Paco Wirz (ITA1) cruised to victory in a wonderful 18 knot breeze today [more] Beaten only once during the whole event and that by Paul Leone (GBR 1111) who closed his event by DNFing for the first time in his life. A crucial DNF it was too. It dropped him to 3rd overall. The beneficiary of his misfortune is Ryszard Pikul (POL 40) who scored a 2nd and 3rd in the stronger breezes today.
Jean Asia (FRA 1711), 1st grand master, finished a creditable 5th overall scoring a 3rd and a 5th today.
One could not have hoped for better conditions; better winds; better race committees or for that matter a happier atmosphere in which to compete. This event will go down as a classic in the history of raceboarding and will encourage more to compete in Bulgaria next year (July 31st > Aug 6th)
