One discard now applies. Youth Daniel Blinnikka, FIN 5, has worked his way up the leaderboard from 6th to 3rd overall in front of Petr Kucera, CZE 15, while Grandmaster Juha Blinnikka, FIN 6, maintains his fifth position. 1st woman, Tuuli Petaja, FIN 1, who will be representing Finland in the Weymouth Olympic Regatta, has moved up a place to 9th overall.
On day two fog and no wind greeted the racers when they arrived at the beach. Unfortunately the wind did not get above 4 knots all day, so no racing.
There was a lack of wind at the start of day three too but after a short postponement the wind filled in with a good 10 knots, forecast to increase during the day. Two races back to back saw the wind dropping at the end of the second race with sailors having to work hard to finish! After a well earned break ashore for lunch two more races, back to back, were set for the afternoon in 8/9 up to 12 knots. As racing finished for the day the forecast finally came good with 20-25 knots!
The afternoon was rounded off by display from a “sky diving” team, refreshments at the club and a great solo entertainer. Lots of sore hands and blisters but a relaxed and friendly atmosphere rounded off another great day.
