The Raceboard Class is at Garda lake. A place so well known for sailing it does not need any introductions. Univela Campione del Garda is our host, and from the neighboring cliffs we have one of the most spectacular backdrops one could imagine.
So, what else do we need? The morning wind is guaranteed with the races today held in wind up to 15 kts. The competitors are here in goods spirits too. With 41 coming from 12 countries and 3 continents making the trip to Italy.
As for the racing it was business as usual for Patrik Pollak. The reigning World Champion confirmed his skill is top notch winning all four races today.
Here is what Patrik had to say after the morning session:
The races were good. When we were going out for the first race there was little wind and then it picked up just as expected before dropping for the third race. I took my Ultra-light wind sail, but I had the strong wind sail ready on the grass just in case. The racing was conducted close to shore and there would have been time to change.
I won all the races, but it was hard work in each and every one. Radim and Fernando were always pushing. This is my favorite class! I tried foiling, but there is nothing like a raceboard.
Tomorrow we plan for racing in the morning and a long distance. Results and photos are available through our event website.
