After 5 days of racing, and 12 races competed in wide range of conditions, Fernando Lamadrid (ESP 951) emerged as European Masters Champion. It was a very close battle between Fernando and second placed Franck Luop (FRA58) with only one point separating them at the close of racing. [more]Races won went in favour of the Spaniard – 6 to 5. Bronze medal winner Frank Spoettel (GER 114) took the other race win, and sailed a consistent series to make the final podium place.
Challenging conditions faced the masters fleet – not only were the conditions difficult, with strong winds and big swell on two days, but a new course posed fresh challenges.
Sharing course B with the RS:X youth also meant mastering the slalom finish favoured by the olympic class!
