The Masters World Championship will be staged in Nessebar, Bulgaria[more] from July 31st > August 6th. The pre-NoR and event website are now being prepared ready for publication in the next three months.

Nessebar is a world heritagte site on the Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria. The race site is next to the old town which one has to cross an isthmus of 200meters to reach. There are sheltered launching areas, space for camper vans and plenty of inexpensive accommodation ranging in price from 15 Euro for a 2/3 star hotel to 25/30 Euro for a 4 star hotel on a B&B basis.

We will support the local event organisers at their request by providing key technical personnel (race committee, measurers & Race Supervsior) The presentation on the plans for the event made by the Bulagarian Sailing Federation at the recent European championship in Puck, Poland  was well attended and impressive in its content.

” I am delighted” said Aaron Botzer, chairman of the ISAF Windsurfing committee ” This will be a superb event and push the boundaries of windsurfing excellence ever further eastwards in Europe by giving countries all round the Black Sea the opportunity to compete at high level. Inevitably, junior and youth development programmes will spring to life where they did not exist before!”
