Only one race for the final day of the Mistral Youth and Junior World Championships in Nessebar, Bulgaria, but no changes in the top positions of the final rankings.

Raceboard Masters Results[more]

In the youth category, David Robertson from New Zealand confirmed his leadership and won the world title with a good advantage with 17 points less than the Israeli Zubari Shahar. Third position for the Italian Federico Esposito

The situation among boys in the junior group remained open to every solution with the European champion, Lukasz Grodzicki, the Italian Heidegger and the French La Coq with many possibilities to win the title. And at the end Heidegger gained the first place and the gold medal. Silver for La Coq, always constant and third position for the Polish Grodzicki, who won the last European Championship in Sopot.

Double italian victory amongst the girls with Flavia Tartaglini in youth category and Laura Linares in junior one.
If for the first one, the final success was becoming real day after day, with the Spanish Marina Alabau second and the Srench La Page third, it wasn’t so easy for the young Linares thanks to the duel with the Polish Malgorzata Bialecka and the small advantage of the Italian. Last races gave the gold medal to Laura Linares who confirms what she already showed in Mexico last
December where she won two world titles. Second place for Malgorzata Bialecka and bronze for the German Moana Della.

Oliver-Tom Schliemann is the new World champion for the Class Aloha, followed by the Italian Guido Carli and the French Marc Noesmoen.

Never in doubt the final victory of Paco Wirz in the Raceboard Masters Championship. The Italian, already World Champion in Mexico last year, won all he could win. Behind him, silver medal for the French Bernard Bouren and bronze for the British Paul Leone.

On friday there was also the Annual General Meeting of MJOD

Next year the Mistral World and Junior World Championships will be held in Sopot, Poland. A confirm for the very good job made in June when the Polish city organized the Mistral European Championship.

Most considerations also concerned about the evident extreme diffusion of the Mistral Olympic Class, made clearer also by the big participation in these last World Championships in Nessebar. Among sailing olympic classes, Mistral is that one that continues to show more presences and high quality in different age categories from under 17 to masters in every international
event.
