A difficult first day for both the race committee and the competitors![more]

Unstable winds – both in strength and direction – was the story today: races started and then abandoned, race 2 for the women shortened – but at least the women were able to show 2 races for their efforts today .

Celine Noyer FRA27 (Mistral – longboard) won both races head of Frederique Gourdin FRA140 ( Fanatic – longboard), with first placed youth girl Amandine Merour FRA188 (Bic – hybrid), missing out on second place on a tie break, in third overall.

In the men’s division a mix of new and old designs in the top 3 places: Nicolas Le Gal FRA 115 (Fanatic – longboard) followed by Pierre Loquet FRA 93 (Exocet – Pacer hybid) and Christophe Boutet (Exocet Warp 380 – longboard). Leading master Fabrice Toussaint FRA 63 on Fanatic (longboard) lies 5th overall.

Current world champion, Patrik Pollak, did not have a good day – failing to finish the course correctly, he retired after finishing.

In the youth boys fleet the Bic Hybrid had a good day – top 3 placings – as did the Congar Scalabrin family with Juliano in first place ahead of Florian.

After each day’s racing the host club, Societe Nautique de Bandol, present “the leaders of the day vest” with winners also receiving a prize from sponsors JILBO.
