The first stage of the Supercup 2018 series took place on Lake Domasa in Slovakia over the weekend of 5th/6th May. Planing conditions all the weekend with wind from 16-25 knots, course races on M and I course with a full schedule of 8 races sailed.[more]
In the Raceboard class local hero and supercup series organiser Patrik POLLAK (SVK-1) proved that despite his first year in the Grandmasters category he can still rock the party when the going gets tough, defeating the Hungarian vice European Raceboard Champion, Santa Bence (HUN-196). Another local Zdeno Vrabel (SVK-8) took advantage of his long lasting windsurfing career and local knowledge and took 3rd place in front of Radim Kamensky (CZE-110) who, despite his win in the last race, could not climb on to the podium this time.
In the BIC Techno 293 class it was Hungarian young guns Morvai Balint (HUN-9) and Tamas Palinkas (HUN-160) who defeated the local hopeful Robert Kubin (SVK-22). In the BIC Techno 293 Plus class it was girls Karolina Berankova (SVK-11) and Sara Koppa (HUN-226) who materialised their spring training camps practice in defeating the boys from Slovakia and Ukraine.
More than 40 competitors from 4 countries, sun, fun, wind and friends once again starting another windsurfing season in central Europe.
