Racing is under way in Cadiz for the 93 men and 35 women from 24 countries, spanning 4 continents. [more] The men’s fleet has been split into two – blue and yellow – fleets.
The first race was a little later than scheduled but the promised Levante wind eventually kicked in this morning. 12 to 15 knots and building meant the Race Officer would run two back to back races before lunch. A flying start to what promised to be great competition.
But the wind gods are being fickle today. Half way through the first race the wind dropped. Still enough to complete the first race, but now the Race Officer has sent everyone back to shore to see if the conditions improve again.
Men top three blue fleet: first Nicolas Huguet FRA 8, second Julien Bontemps FRA 6 (both on RS:X) and third Patrik Pollak SVK 1.
Stay tuned for more news as we receive it from Cadiz.
