Following on from recent comments received expressing concerns about the new “sail tolerance rule”, the class committee is reviewing the wording of the rule, with a view to retracting the rule. The intention was to modify class rules to allow the use of RSX 9.5 and 8.5 sails – as agreed by the 2009 AGM. [more] To prevent contravention of the “spirit” of the rules, and building to 9.8, the rules clearly specify 9.5 as the maximum sail size permitted for men and 8.5 for youths and women (see rule C.8.1(b)).

The class committee are considering a replacement rule. If and when a new wording is approved, by ISAF, every effort will be made to fast track its introduction.

The class committee have also introduced a new feature page on the class website – under Rules & Regs – “Question & Answer” (Q&A).

“If you are unsure about the meaning of a Class Rule (equipment rule) or a Championship Rule (event rule) send your question and we will publish the answer on this website.”
