Racing has started at the 2007 Raceboard Europeans in the Bay of Bandol, situated on the beautiful Cote D’Azur, Southern France.[more]

Over 60 competitors, representing 10 countries, have registered for the championship.  Current world champion, Patrik Pollak (SVK1), will be hoping to add the 2007 European Title to his long list of achievements; but he will be pushed hard by a very competitive, if not very big, fleet of seniors and masters. The majority of men are competing on “longboards” – where alongside established brands, Mistral and Fanatic, and the recently introduced Exocet Warp 380, Starboard are competing for the first time with the Phantom 380.

It is very encouraging for the future growth of the class that over half of the entry is in the youth division where 5 “hybrid” board brands are represented.

Today the wind is light, but during the 2 days of registration and practice the wind was very strong, so the competitors can expect varied and challenging conditions!

Yesterday evening the host club, Societe Nautique de Bandol held an opening ceremony where representatives of the muncipality of Bandol, major sponsors of this regatta, welcomed everyone to the town and declared the championships open.
